ACTING COACHING

Private coaching, classes and self-tape support for actors.

I work with actors at different stages of their careers, from people just starting out to experienced working actors.

Sessions are practical and tailored to what you’re working on, whether that’s an upcoming audition, a scene you’re developing, your screen acting technique or your ongoing craft.

“Erin is one of my favourite screen directors I've ever worked with. She made the process so incredibly fun and exciting. She helped so much with picking scenes and offering her opinion on how to make it better and what about you made it unique”

- Former screen acting student

duo coaching

Work with another actor

Bring in a scene to work on together, or I can help you find material that suits both actors and gives you something interesting to explore.

Duo sessions are a chance to develop connection, chemistry and responsiveness while working with another actor. We’ll rehearse, experiment with different choices and work on taking direction in the moment.

The focus is on building chemistry, learning to collaborate and becoming more responsive to other actors: skills you can take into any scene or on-set environment. It’s also useful for scene work, showreel preparation and auditions.

Don’t have someone to partner with? Let me know. I can help pair you with another actor.

self tape feedback

one-off feedback on your self tape

I’ll look at both your performance and the self-tape itself, including:

  • What’s working well and the strengths of your performance

  • Specific ways you could improve it, with director-style notes you can use when filming another take

  • Eyelines, framing and other aspects of the self-tape setup

  • What feels unique or distinctive about you as an actor, and what you might want to lean further into

Once I’ve watched your tape, I’ll send you my feedback and we’ll have a call to go through it together. We can talk through any of the notes and explore anything you’d like to work on further.

$50 · includes feedback and follow-up call

acting classes

group classes and workshops

Practical group sessions focused on acting for screen, scene work, auditions and developing your craft.

Classes and workshops are offered periodically in Sydney.

“Erin really helped me with my character work for showreels and had great exercises to help us explore our limitations”

- Former screen acting student

WHAT CAN WE WORK ON?

Auditions & Self-Tapes

Bring in an upcoming audition and we’ll work through the material together. We can look at the script and character, make choices, rehearse, adjust the performance and film takes where useful.

Scene & Character

Bring in a scene, monologue or character you want to explore. We’ll break down the material, experiment with different approaches and work towards choices that feel specific and truthful to you.

Screen Acting

Develop the practical skills involved in working on camera. This can include eyelines, blocking, listening, subtlety, voice, physicality, frame awareness and finding the right level of performance for the camera.

Showreel Scenes

Develop and film scenes that give you something interesting to play and showcase your strengths as an actor. We’ll choose material around you, rehearse and direct the scenes, then film footage you can use for your showreel.

Ongoing Craft

Not everything has to be about the next audition. Regular coaching can be a space to keep developing your technique, explore your instincts, build confidence and better understand what makes your work distinctive.

“Erin is an awesome teacher and director and it was so enlightening to work with her. I felt that everything she said was beneficial and I learnt so much that solidified what I have been working towards these past two years”

- Former screen acting student

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION?

Every session is different, depending on what you’re working towards

We might start by talking through a script, character or audition, then move into exercises, rehearsal and scene work.

If you’re preparing an audition, we’ll work through the material, make choices, rehearse and refine the performance. If you’re working on your general craft, we might focus on character, script analysis, screen technique, voice, movement or developing your individual creative voice.

I’ll give you direction and practical tools you can take into your next audition, rehearsal or performance.

“Erin has consistently brought out the best in me, both creatively and professionally. If you get the chance to work with her, take it.”
